What is the Gangstar Mirage City wanted level?
A 1–5 star heat meter. Crime, stolen cars, and lingering gunfire raise it. Public guides cap it at five stars. Helicopters and elite Orarra units show at the top in marketing/public write-ups.
The Gangstar Mirage City wanted level is a 1–5 star heat meter. Crime, stolen cars, and lingering gunfire raise it. Public marketing and launch guides put police helicopters and elite Orarra units at the top. Stars drop when you break line of sight or enter an interior / apartment — not when you empty all three weapon slots. This page is for players who already have a car and a pad from the beginner guide. Verified August 21, 2026.

Wanted is Rooklyn’s police-and-corp response to crime. It is not a separate PvP playlist and it is not Allstar Arena. You raise stars by being loud and visible; you lower them by becoming invisible. Third-party beginner write-ups already logged a maximum of five stars. This wiki treats that cap as the working model until an in-client recapture says otherwise.

| Stars (working model) | What to assume | What we will not invent |
|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | Local cars and on-foot cops. Leave the block. Stop shooting. | Exact unit count, siren radius, or “seconds to 3 stars” |
| 3–4 | Heavier road response. Alleys, parks, garages to break LOS. | A published elite-unit unlock at a named star |
| 5 | Air + elite pressure in public guides. Interiors, not a last stand. | Helicopter HP, Orarra DPS, or a “best 5-star gun” % |
The HUD can look like a combat challenge. It is not. The weapon tier list even ranks a “wanted” loadout as something you shoot with, then leave. If stars are already 4–5, proficiency farming is over. Keep the AR you can hip-fire; do not swap to a sniper mid-chase just because a global list called it S.
Public/marketing copy names helicopters and elite Orarra units at high heat. In-mission jobs also shout Aurora as the security that crashes a loud scene. This page records both names. It will not invent a spawn table that pretends they are one faction with fake HP.
Once the meter is readable, the next question is what actually ticks it up — not which gun “clears stars.”
Anything the city can see you do. Public beginner guides list the usual sandbox sins: shooting civilians, stealing cars, open chaos, robberies, and hanging around after the crime. The opening hour already demonstrates two of them — the tutorial bank escape and the first hot whip after the three-year timeskip.
| Action | Typical result | First fix |
|---|---|---|
| Gunfire in the street | Stars climb while you stay visible | Stop shooting; leave the block |
| Stolen / hot car | Aurora / city units ping you quickly (tutorial already showed this) | Drive the objective or dump the car indoors later |
| Lingering on a pile / vault candy | Backup arrives; heat keeps climbing | Take the marked exit, not a second magazine |
| Turning around to “finish” a cop | The meter you were about to dump goes back up | Break LOS instead |
| Starting a new crime at 4–5 | You donate the bag and the car | Hide first |
Public guides note the mini-map marks police along with shops and apartments. If blips stack while you are still spraying, you are feeding the meter. District flavor lives on the map page; this page only cares that police icons mean leave. A diner pin is not a hide unless you can actually enter it.
Bobby’s first stolen whip is designed to get you chased. That is the game teaching heat in the first hour. Do not treat a burning meter as proof you need a second toy car. Performance notes belong on vehicles; surviving the ping belongs here.
High stars change the sky, not just the street. That is the next section.
Public marketing and launch guides are blunt at the top of the meter: police helicopters and elite Orarra units. Treat that as the working high-star picture. Treat any blog that lists “X choppers and Y elites at star 5” as unofficial until we recapture it in-client.
| Source class | What it supports | Status on this wiki |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing / public guides | Helicopters + elite Orarra at high wanted | Use as the high-star warning |
| In-mission VO on loud jobs | Aurora security arriving when you go loud | Named, not a unit spreadsheet |
| Chase radio / cop barks | “Last warning,” “you crossed the line,” “come out” | Flavor that you are the loot |
| Exact helicopter count / elite HP | — | TBA |
| “Best 5-star DPS” charts | — | Rejected — wrong question |
If something is tracking you from above, breaking LOS on the street is harder. That is why interiors matter more at five stars than at two. An alley that worked at 2 stars can still be visible from the air. The apartment you already claimed is the tool. A long straight highway with a helicopter overhead is still line of sight, no matter how fast the stolen whip is.
Orarra is the corp flavor of Rooklyn — high-tech control, not a dungeon with a published loot table. Elite units at high heat are the city spending budget on you. You do not get a hidden multiplier for killing them. You get more stars, empty mags, and a bag you cannot deposit. Factions is crew flavor; this page is the meter.
The executable is how you dump the meter. That is the mid-page hook.
This is the mid-page executable for the Gangstar Mirage City wanted level. Stars fall when the city loses you. Two methods are consistent across public guides and the opening hour: break line of sight, or enter an interior / apartment and wait. Shooting the meter down is not a method.

| Stars | Do this | Do not do this |
|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | Leave the block, stop shooting, keep driving | Turn around to finish the cop |
| 3–4 | Break LOS with alleys, parks, or a garage | Start a new crime to “use the heat” |
| 5 | Get indoors (apartment / interior) and wait | Stand in the street and empty all three slots |
The starter pad from Bobby is a Safehouse and a heat dump. Public map notes already put apartments on the mini-map. You do not need a penthouse to hide. You need a door. Charlie later tells you not to bring heat to the Pink Flamingo — that is the same rule for every contact: lose stars before you turn in. Peeking to “check if they left” is how you donate the LOS break.
A long straight highway with a helicopter above you is still line of sight. Cutting a corner and sitting in an interior is the actual break. We will not invent a “seconds after last seen” number. Wait until the stars are gone.
Five-star footage is mostly people ignoring this list. The next section is why that fails.
Because the meter is already telling you that you lost the stealth check. Five-star chase clips are loud on purpose: cover barks, suppress, reloading, “out of ammo,” cops calling you a coward if you hide then peek. That loop does not pay Clean Money. It empties the three guns you actually need for a job.
| If you keep shooting… | What actually happens |
|---|---|
| You “clear the wave” | Another wave. Helicopters / elites (public guides) are not a last pack. |
| You test a launcher “for wanted DPS” | You waste the third slot and still have stars. Role letters: weapon tier list. |
| You die on the street | The bag and the time go to Orarra. Dirty you cannot scrub is dead inventory. |
| You peek from the apartment | You donate the LOS break you just earned. |
| You start the heist hot | The crew inherits your meter. Vaults are not a cop-clear. |
When units shout to come out, they are confirming the hide is working. Stay in. The coward they want is the player who peeks. The correct player is boring: door, wait, HUD down, leave.
Heat is also a money and heist problem. Last section before FAQ.
Dirty Money from crime and heists still has to reach Nixon Corp. A five-star street is a donation chute. Contacts will not thank you for arriving hot. The wanted meter is part of the cash loop, not a side activity.
| You wanted to… | With stars up | After stars drop |
|---|---|---|
| Scrub Dirty at Nixon Corp | You may not survive the drive; pink stays unspendable | Money guide — Phone → Business Prodigy → Nixon Corp |
| Start a 4-player vault / transport | Crew inherits heat; getaway is already failed | Prep loadout + car, then go in clean |
| Turn in at Pink Flamingo / any contact | Charlie’s rule: do not bring heat | Dump stars, then walk in |
| Buy guns or car performance | Shops want Clean anyway; dying wastes the trip | Scrub first, then spend |
| Farm proficiency in the street | You are feeding the meter, not a hidden XP cheat | Shoot on jobs you can finish |
A four-player crew can hit bank vaults and high-security transports. That still ends in a getaway. If you load in at five stars, the exit is already a helicopter problem. Lose heat, then run the job. Prep guns and a getaway car first. The crew cannot wash your meter for you; they can only inherit it.
Tutorial heist → chase. Stolen car → chase. Apartment → later used as a hide. Phone → do not waste it standing in gunfire. If that loop already feels automatic, the short version is on tips. If cash is the blocker, jump to the money guide.
You now have the 1–5 model, the public high-star warning, the indoor dump, and the reason not to shoot the meter. FAQ is the search-shaped version.
A 1–5 star heat meter. Crime, stolen cars, and lingering gunfire raise it. Public guides cap it at five stars. Helicopters and elite Orarra units show at the top in marketing/public write-ups.
Break line of sight or enter an apartment / interior and wait. Do not keep shooting. Dump a hot car so you are not a moving billboard.
Stop adding crimes, get indoors, wait until the HUD actually falls. Five stars are a leave signal. Fighting them empties ammo and donates the bag.
Public marketing and launch guides put police helicopters at high wanted, with elite Orarra units. Exact counts and HP stay TBA on this wiki.
High-star city/corp response named in public/marketing guides. They are not a raid boss with a published loot table. In-mission jobs also shout Aurora as the security that arrives when you go loud.
No. Public guidance is to disappear, not to farm the meter. Turning around to finish a cop is how 2 stars become 4.
No. Crew jobs assume you can still exit. Lose stars first, then run heists.
A claimed apartment or any enterable interior. The starter pad is a heat dump, not just housing. Map icons: map.
Dying hot donates the bag. Even if you live, Dirty still has to be scrubbed at Nixon Corp. See the money guide.
